Food Rescue Hub is the foundation that allows food to move more efficiently from donors to people in need in our community.
Last Fall, the Food Rescue Hub approached Woodstock City Council to request a one-time start up grant of $50,000 to get the warehouse established and running. Council not only voted unanimously in favour of this request, they also initiated and approved a second motion to donate an additional $50,000 to us for our start up needs. In making this decision, the Council cited the urgent need for this facility due to increasing food insecurity in our community.
We sincerely appreciate Woodstock City Council’s support in helping to fund our set up!
Your donations will help to pay for rent, insurance, utilities, equipment and other operating expenses. Every penny donated to the Food Rescue Hub goes directly into equipment and operations costs since we are volunteer based.
To donate to the Food Rescue Hub and receive a tax deductible receipt, your donation will go to “Woodstock Rotary Foundation – Food Rescue Hub” until our own charitable status application is approved.
We accept e-Transfers, cheques and payments by credit card. We can also set up pre-authorized monthly donations if you prefer.
Cheques should be made out to “Woodstock Rotary Foundation – Food Rescue Hub.”
To help us be financially sustainable and to support ongoing food rescue efforts, we are asking donors (who are financially able) to commit to recurring donations for one, two, three or five years.
Charitable receipts will be issued for all donations over $20.
